The proposed Nordic brewing alliance between Bryggerigruppen, Borg Bryggerier Holding and Spendrup Invest is to go ahead, with the three buying a 94% stake in Hansa Borg Bryggerier, Norway's second largest brewer.

The total investment in the project is reported to be $53.6m (£37.6m).

The new joint venture company will be called NewCo, not to be confused with the 'Newco' owned by a consortium headed by Enterprise Inns, which bought Nomura's Unique Pub Co and Voyager Pub Group for £2.013bn.
