Moorhouse’s Brewery has created a craft ale arm called Spell Factory, M&C understands.

The company has made a 50-barrel brew called Spell 1, which will be made available in 3330ml bottles to high-end supermarket chain Booths as well as to a select number of on-trade customers.

It is planned to be the first of a series of brews under the Spell Factory banner, which will not carry any Moorhouse’s branding.

Spell 1 will have an ABV of 7% with Spell 2, due to be released early next year, at 9%. Future beers are likely to be around the 7% ABV mark.
