Gaming machine supplier Sceptre Leisure has been acquired by Germany’s Gauselmann Group.

The company’s most recent accounts, for the year ending April 2013, showed losses of £5.4m on revenues of £32.8m.

Duff & Phelps, which led the restructuring process, said in a statement : “Certain companies within the group were placed into administration on 11 February at which point the core trading businesses and a number of subsidiary shareholdings were sold to ADP Gauselmann UK Limited. The businesses have continued to trade and there have been no redundancies as a result of the process.”

Jürgen Stühmeyer, member of the board for sales at the Gauselmann Group, said: “The acquisition of the Sceptre Leisure business and assets was the most effective way of ensuring the future security and prosperity of its customers and staff.

“The Gauselmann Group will be working closely with the management team at Sceptre Leisure to provide all the support it needs to create a platform for innovation and growth in the UK market place”, he continues.

Gauselmann added that, while it had concluded the purchase of the Sceptre Leisure assets, it was in discussion with another leading gaming company over the “possibility of a strategic investment in the business designed to further strengthen this acquisition”.
