Martin Hall is to step down as chief executive of Freedrinks, the producer of the Zeo soft drink brand, to be replaced by current sales director Mark Young.

Hall, who leaves at the end of April, is departing to pursue other opportunities, Freedrinks said.

Hall said: “Now that Zeo is launched and we have distribution in Tesco, WH Smith, the Co-op, and multiple managed pub and restaurant operators, it’s time for someone else to take the business to the next stage.

“Start-up businesses are tremendously exciting, none more so than Freedrinks and I look forward to watching the further progress of Zeo. I feel my next challenge may well involve returning to brand and business reinvigoration.”

Dragan Zarcovic, chairman, said: “We are extremely grateful to Martin who has done a fantastic job in launching this excellent, low-sugar product into the market at just the right time. We wish him well with his future endeavours.

“At the same time, as part of the planned leadership changes, we are very pleased to announce that Mark Young, currently our sales and main board director, will succeed Martin.  Mark is an excellent choice as chief executive and he takes the helm at a very exciting time.”
