Brewer Carlsberg UK has signed a five-year distribution contract with Norbert Dentressangle, the international supply chain and logistics business. The deal, for an undisclosed sum, will see Norbert Dentressangle take responsibility for all of Carlsberg’s UK primary distribution, including managing the flow of kegs and bottles into and out of the Carlsberg brewery in Northampton, and management of Carlsberg’s national distribution centre, also in Northampton. Carlsberg UK will continue to distribute its own and other third-party brands to pub and free-trade customers through its own secondary on-trade distribution network. David Hawkins, country procurement manager for Carlsberg UK, said: “Carlsberg is delighted to have secured the services of Norbert Dentressangle as our primary transport, national distribution centre and brewery services provider. Their appointment follows a long and tough tendering process, in which they have shown themselves to be a dynamic partner with a collaborative approach to day-to-day business.”
