BrewDog has appointed former Red Bull sales director, Doug Bairner, as managing director of its LoneWolf spirits arm.
Bairner was also previously market controller at Innocent Drinks, and the founder of cycling clothing company Lumo.
It comes as the group officially launches the distillery at its headquarters in Ellon, Aberdeenshire.
The group also announced it would release its own line of tonic and soda alongside the spirits – specifically formulated to be paired with its drinks. The two mixers in the range will be the LoneWolf Tonic and the LoneWolf Mint Soda.
Bairner said: “LoneWolf is an apt name for a brand that stands alone in the industry as a custodian of purist, truthful production methods. Our new purpose-built facility takes craft distillation to new levels. The huge amount of copper contact that our stills and columns give to our spirit delivers unparalleled quality.
“When three-quarters of the most popular pour for gin and vodka is made up of tonic, we can’t understand why no other spirits brands have developed dedicated mixers. Our mixers accentuate the unique flavour profile of our spirits – allowing us another dimension of control to deliver the best possible drinking experience.”
