Zouk, the Indian restaurant chain, has signed a deal to open a third site under in its Bar and Grill brand, in Liverpool city centre. The company, which is run by entrepreneur Amjad Bashir, with his sons Tayub and Mudassar, is set to invest £2m in a new 5,000 sq ft restaurant in the city, with an open ing planned in the next 18 months. The group, which plans to extend its original restaurant in Bradford, opened its second site in Manchester’s media quarter last year. Zouk is hoping to establish a restaurant in London and is also currently looking for a site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Amjad Bashir said: “We have ambitious plans to keep expanding the Zouk business and the Liverpool restaurant will be another big step forward. We are still looking for suitable sites with the ultimate aim of developing the Zouk concept into a franchise operation.”
