Alan Yau, the founder of Wagamama, is set to launch a new chain of Chinese fast casual dining restaurants called ChaCha Moon. The first outlet of the new chain is due to open in London’s Ganton Street in November, followed by a second branch in Whiteleys shopping centre early next year. The concept is aimed at the same market as Wagamama, focusing on sole course dining. Yau is also expanding his Busaba Eathai brand of casual dining Japanese restaurants, with the opening of the fourth UK site in Whiteleys at the beginning of next year. He is planning to open his first Busaba Eathai outlet abroad, with a site scheduled for Kuala Lumpar early next year. Yau’s independent fine dining Japanese restaurant called Sake No Hana will open on St James’s Street in London in early September The 100-cover venue covering two floors will feature a sushi counter and a small separate bar.
