Yard Sale Pizza are to open their fifth London site, in September, at 184 Hackney Road.

The business is taking over the two-floor space that formerly housed Bad Sports, near Hoxton Station.

The ground floor will feature high seating and leather booths, with an open kitchen displaying its pizza oven. Downstairs there will be a small bar and flexible space for 32, either dining in or for private hire.

The site will open from midday for the first time, and sees the introduction of a new calzone menu, with Cobble Lane cured meat, veggie and vegan calzones available at lunchtimes only.

Yard Sale regularly teams-up with chefs and other restaurants to create ‘Love Ins’ pizza specials. Recent collaborations have included Monty’s Deli, Breddos Tacos and Patty & Bun.

Investor Paul Campbell joined Yard Sale Pizza as a non-executive director at the beginning of the year. Yard Sale co-founder Johnnie Tate said at the time that Campbell would help steer the business on its next stage of growth, with one or two sites planned for 2019. “We are looking to expand steadily around London,” he said.
