X-Upper, the sausage specialist restaurant concept in Islington, is closing after four months.

Based on 88 Upper Street, and backed by Alexandre Rahmatollahi of Palamon Capital Partners, the restaurant cited a lack of customers for its closure.

It was led and founded by Mariam French, formerly of Aryzta Food Solutions and Delice de France, and featured sausages from around the world, including Spanish chorizo, German olma bratwurst, British Cumberland, and North African merguez.

An Instagram post wrote: “We have had some great customer reviews and feedback since opening but unfortunately we have struggled to get enough new customers to try us for our investors to continue supporting us.”
