Whitbread has announced it is appointing a new auditor after 60 years with Ernst & Young.

The company said that following completion of the audit of the group’s accounts for the year ending 26 February 2015, Deloitte will be appointed as Whitbread’s statutory auditor, subject to approval by shareholders at the annual general meeting on 16 June.

Simon Melliss, chairman of the audit committee, said: “We thank Ernst & Young LLP for their significant contribution over many years as Whitbread’s auditor and we look forward to working with Deloitte LLP in the future.”
