Motorway service operator Welcome Break has signed up to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

Under the scheme, participating eateries at the services will offer a 50% discount (capped at £10 per person) on all food and non-alcoholic drinks.

The discount will run Monday – Wednesday from 3 - 31 August and will be valid for customers looking to eat-in at any Burger King, Starbucks, The Good Breakfast, Chopstix, Harry Ramen, KFC, Pret or Pizza Express Welcome Break site.

Earlier this month, the group boosted its liquidity after repurposing £25m of a dedicated capital expenditure facility in into a revolving credit facility.

At the time, the business said its “absolute focus at present is navigating the various challenges associated with covid-19 and to ensure we are looking after our people whilst continuing to deliver the essential service we provide to our customers.

“The ultimate course of the pandemic remains unclear at this stage, but we are following the relevant guidance from the authorities and taking definitive steps to ensure the Group remains well positioned as market conditions recover.”
