Marcus Weedon has stepped down as head of recruitment at the Ivy Collection, the Richard Caring-backed group, after just over a year in the role.

Weedon joined the Ivy Café operator last October, after six years as the senior recruitment manager at Carluccio’s.

Weedon followed in the footsteps of Ian Newman, who stepped down as acquisitions manager at Carluccio’s last summer to help with the growth of the Richard Caring-backed Ivy Café and Market Grill formats. Newman subsequently stepped down earlier this year.

Weedon was tasked with recruiting for the fledgling all-day dining concept.

The Ivy Collection, the Richard Caring-backed group, recently further strengthened its 2017 openings pipeline, after securing a site in Richmond.

The group, which is also in talks on a site in Marlow and one in the City, is understood to have acquired the All Bar One in Hill Street, Richmond, from Mitchells & Butlers.

As revealed by MCA in September, the company has secured the La Rive restaurant that opened in Cobham’s High Street last year for an opening in early 2017.

The company, which opened its latest Ivy Café last month in St John’s Wood, recently confirmed it will open a site in Guildford next year at the Tunsgate Quarter development.

The company, which is set to open Soho Ivy Brasserie on the ground floor of 30 Broadwick Street (formerly St Lawrence House), will take 8,500sq ft.
