Wagamama, the fast-casual noodle chain led by Steve Easterbrook, has secured a unit in Ashford, Kent, as it closes in on operating 90 sites in the UK. The group, which recently launched its 84th site in the UK in Lincoln, has secured unit 47-48, at the Ashford Designer Outlet, with an opening scheduled for early next year. The chain, which is looking to open another 15-20 sites in the next 12 months across the UK, has also secured a lease on the Old Fire Station pub in London’s Hammersmith, a unit in London’s Kingsway, plus sites in Ealing Broadway Centre, Telford Southwater, Dorchester, MediaCity in Salford, York and at the Southside shopping centre development in London’s Wandsworth. It also recently opened in the Fulham Broadway Centre and Southampton West Quay. Property consultant Cushman & Wakefield has been retained to aid the expansion.
