Wagamama, the Duke Street-backed chain, has received planning permission to open a unit in Chichester.

The group had originally been denied permission to convert the Store Twenty One unit in the town’s South Street last December.

Earlier this week, the group confirmed it was to open a site at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet at York next week.

Wagamama, which opened its 96th UK restaurant recently at Ocean Terminal in Edinburgh, is also on site at the Xscape in Milton Keynes; the former La Tasca unit in Cabots Circus, Bristol; and on the former Waterstones unit in Maidstone.

It has also secured a unit at the Designer Outlet at Wembley and has agreed to open sites in Aylesbury, Derby Westfield and Winchester.
