Wagamama, the Duke Street Capital-led group, has appointed Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) to advise it on its restaurant acquisition strategy.
The instruction includes all lease advisory and agency work as well as the asset management of the group’s 100 existing restaurants. The property agent will also aid the company’s goal of opening 20 new restaurants a year over the next three years.
The move to appoint JLL comes after the chain carried out a restructure of its property department, which led to the departure of property director Sharon Cawthorne. The property team now reports directly into global brand director Simon Cope.
Rob Howarth, director in JLL’s Leisure team, said: “The leisure and restaurant industry is seeing improved trading and there are strong requirements for this year. More operators are moving out of town and we have the expertise to ensure that Wagamama is located in the best schemes and can benefit from the most footfall.”
