Turtle Bay, the Piper Private Equity-backed Caribbean restaurant chain, has set out plans to double its estate over the next six months, with seven new openings planned, including two in London.

The brand, which is led Aj Jaya-Wickrema, will open its first site in the north west later this month in Manchester. This will be followed in June with an opening in Bath and then in July with a further launch in Crawley.

In September, the seven-strong company will open in Preston, which will be followed by further opening in Ealing, Guildford and Walthamstow before the end of November.

The company, in which Piper has invested £6m, intends to open a further 20 outlets over the next three to five years.

It is thought that the group is in talks to open a second location in Manchester for 2015.

The group is in talks to open at the Land Securities development of the former Sussex House site in Crawley.
