Karam Sethi, the founder and chef-patron of Michelin-starred Trishna in London’s Marylebone, is collaborating with Noma co-founder Claus Meyer to open an Indian restaurant in Copenhagen.

Sethi, who is also a main backer of Bubbledogs in Fitzrovia, will open Indian restaurant Veranda in the former D&D building Custom House. The site, which is located opposite Noma, will also house two Nordic restaurants, one fine dining and one more casual, as well as a jazz bar.

Veranda will be open for dinner only and will serve two tasting menus that will change on a weekly basis. Chefs from Trishna and Sethi’s forthcoming London opening Gymkhana will work in Copenhagen on a monthly basis with dish development and tastings being conducted in London.

The restaurant is set to open in mid October or November.

Gymkhana, meanwhile, will be a modern Indian restaurant inspired by the Gymkhana Club in Delhi that Sethi visited regularly as a child. Set over two floors, with a basement bar, it will open at 42 Albermarle Street in Mayfair in September.

Sethi had been in negotiations to acquire the site since December 2011.
