The Restaurant Group (TRG), the Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito operator, has launched its new concept, Firejacks.

The brand – which has the tagline Meat, Fire, Friends – has opened in the former Coast to Coast unit in Northampton’s Sixfields, which closed earlier this year.

The menu centres around steaks, burgers, ribs and skewers, with nachos and “firestarters” also available. It also offers three different types of fires – skin-n, waffle fires or sweet potato fries with a choice of sauces.

Prices range from £8.95 for a 6oz Flat Iron steak to £22.95 for an 18oz Scotch T-Bone while burgers range from £8.95 for BBQ Chicken & Cheese to £13.95 for a Twin Jacker with a double patty, bacon, pulled pork, cheese and jalapenos.

There is also a brunch offer at weekends.

The drinks selection centres around cocktails, beers and wines.

Earlier this year, TRG appointed Murray McGowan, formerly of Costa and KFC, to the newly created role of managing director across its leisure division.

In his new role, McGowan, who joined TRG on 5 June, is overseeing the turnaround of the group’s Frankie & Benny’s, Chiquito and Coast to Coast brands.

The new role enables TRG chief executive Andy McCue to focus more time on growing the business.

In March, the company said all three of its major brands – Frankie and Benny’s; Chiquito and Coast to Coast – underperformed in 2016 but stressed a ‘robust plan’ was in place to turn them around.

The group said its strategy would revolve around re-establishing competitiveness for its leisure brands, growing the pubs and concessions business and building a “leaner, faster and more focussed organisation”.
