TRG Concessions has partnered with Russel Joffe, founder of the original Giraffe brand, on the launch of a new casual dining concept called Sonoma.
The ‘table service brand’ will open in Gatwick Airport’s North Terminal before Easter, with space for 300 covers. There will also be a separate bar area offering wine on tap and a selection of craft beers and spirits.
TRG Concessions has invested close to £3m on the new concept, which will replace the existing Garfunkel’s and Armadillo restaurants within the terminal.
The creation of Sonoma has been based on the relaxed, and fun dining style of California’s premier wine region, and will offer “pay at table” capabilities, a click and collect service, and digital menu and food service time displays at the entrance.
The menu will feature rotisserie chicken and pizza made in an open oven in the restaurant.

“Sonoma will bring a unique family dining offer to the North Terminal; catering to different dietary requirements and bringing together current food and drink trends as well as offering the favourites that we know are well loved in this space.”
