Tortilla, the Quilvest-backed, fast-casual concept, has further strengthened its openings pipeline for this year, both inside and outside London, whilst also adding to its operational team, M&C Report has learnt.

The 21-strong, which is led by Richard Morris, has lined up five new opening for this year so far; in Finchley Road in May; in the Google building King’s Cross in June; Guildford in July; Birmingham Grand Central in September and Nottingham’s Victoria Centre in October, with others set to be confirmed.

The company also recently launched a delivery service with Deliveroo at its Clapham Junction, Leadenhall Market and Brighton sites.

The group has also brought in Katy Stenning from Bill’s to head up its HR department, while Matt Chapman has joined as its London and South West regional manager from Maison Blanc and previously Patisserie Valerie.

Last November, the business secured a new £11m funding facility from Santander.

The new funding should take the current 21-strong business to about 45 sites within the next three years.
