Tortilla, the Quilvest-backed, fast-casual concept, has further strengthened its management team with the promotion of Ben Eastwood, who launched the brand in Trinity Kitchen, Leeds, to area manager for the Midlands and the North.

The appointment comes weeks after M&C Report learnt of Matthew Chapman, previously of Patisserie Valerie and Maison Blanc being appointed to the area manager role for London and the south east as well as Katy Stenning joining as head of human resources.

The company said these appointments have strengthened its position in preparation for the continued expansion plans to roll out a further 10 restaurants around the UK this year.

Richard Morris, managing director of Tortilla said: “It comes at a great time for these guys to join us and we are really excited to have them on board ahead of the busy year we have planned. Between them they have worked with some respected brands and will be integral to the ongoing growth and development of Tortilla.”

The 21-strong, which is led by Morris, has lined up five new opening for this year so far; in Finchley Road in May; in the Google building King’s Cross in June; Guildford in July; Birmingham Grand Central in September and Nottingham’s Victoria Centre in October, with others set to be confirmed.

Tortilla has extended its evening menu to include chicken quesadillas and nachos queso as well as evolving its business model with the trial of delivery from its Clapham Junction, Leadenhall Market and Brighton sites with Deliveroo.
