The Vurger Co. has secured investment from founder and CEO of KBW Ventures, Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal, as it looks to expand its vegan burger business, according to Plant Based News.
Prince Khaled, who is a member of the Saudi Arabian royal family, is also the founding chairman of KBW Investments.
The company’s co-founder Rachel Hugh, told Plant Based News that the investment “further confirms and solidifies the position of the brand in the market place, and sets us in such an exciting position to start our global expansion plans”.
The Vurger Co. opened its first permanent site earlier this year, before securing an additional funding £600k in funding from private investors this summer to expand the business.
It has also lined up a site in Canary Wharf Group’s Wharf Kitchen concept, in Jubilee Place, which is due to open this November.
