Healthy all-day dining brand The Skinny Kitchen is to launch a crowdfunding campaign for UK expansion.

With sites already in Ibiza, Canterbury, Ealing Broadway and Angel Islington, the business plans to launch the Seedrs campaign within the next few weeks.

A third London site is seen as the natural next step, with potential for regional expansion in Manchester.

“The plan is to keep growing within the capital, that’s where we see our core business being built around,” Joel Belchem, operations director told MCA.

“We want to see how we get on with this round and then go from there,” said Belchem.

In accordance to some of the most prominent eating-out trends at the moment, nutrition and health comprise two of the key brand focuses. The menu includes a wide range of vegetarian and vegan dishes and emphasises the use of macronutrients.

Voted one of the most ‘instagrammable’ places to eat in London by Glamour magazine, Skinny Kitchen has a strong online presence and they hope to reach out to potential investors via their various social media platforms.

Belchem explained the company has a “good reach” on social media and as a result they intend to aim appeals for investment towards their loyal customer base. “What better way to reach them than via our social media platforms and our databases? One thing we’ve been good at is keeping in contact with our customers and listening to what they want and reacting to that. That’s one of the main drivers for us wanting to go down this route,” he added.

Potential investors are offered a range of perks in exchange for their contribution from long-term discounts and merchandise to a 2020 VIP Black Card for Skinny Kitchen’s partner brand - Ocean Beach Ibiza.
