Kefi Ltd, the company led by Nabil Mankarious and David Page, is in talks to open two new sites under it’s the Real Greek brand.

Page told M&C Report that the group, which said previously that it was exploring franchise opportunities as part of plans to expand chain outside of London, was in talks on two units in the capital for the brand for openings in 2014.

The return to the expansion trail for the six-strong chain comes after it reported a 15% rise in full-year like-for-like sales.

Page said: “We have reinvigorated the brand, complete with all items of the menu being refreshed and now feel the time is right to explore expansion opportunities.”

The group had previously spoken of opening smaller formats in London under the brand. It said it was looking at opening kiosks or smaller, 45-seat units up to around 800sq ft.

Page told M&C Report last year that the group had also received a number of franchise enquiries regarding taking the brand outside the capital.

The chain currently operates sites in in Bankside, Covent Garden, Marylebone, Spitalfields, Westfield Shepherds Bush and Westfield Stratford.
