Thai Leisure Group is to open a new concept called Thaikhun Street Bar at the Liverpool One shopping and leisure complex in October.

The 3,000 sq ft bar will be located next to Chaophraya, the Group’s contemporary Thai dining restaurant, overlooking Chavasse Park.

The décor will celebrate the traditional Thai street scene, and feature bric-a-brac, a tuk-tuk and specially selected artefacts imported from Thailand.

The menu will offer upmarket cocktails and Singha draught beer as well as non-alcoholic drinks such as ice cream smoothies. It will also feature traditional Thai bar snacks and bowls, including pad Thai and chicken satay skewers, and will host live music night and DJ sets at the weekend.

Kim Kaewkraikhot, founder of Thai Leisure Group, said: “As the first project of its kind, the brand-new bar concept is very exciting for us all. Offering unique Thai experiences is something we’re hugely passionate about and with this fantastic offer, I have no doubt it will succeed.”

Alison Clegg, director, asset management, Grosvenor Europe – which manages Liverpool One – added: “TLG’s proven success of operations at Liverpool ONE with its existing restaurant, Chaophraya, and the quality of the new concept, makes the new Thaikhun Street Bar a very welcome addition.”

Thai Leisure Group is owned jointly by Kim Kaewkraikhot and Martin Stead, and owns and operates concepts such as Chaophraya and Thaikhun.
