High-profile chef James Tanner and his brother Chris have sold their eponymous restaurant in Plymouth after 15 years.

Tanners will  re-open under the direction of Benjamin Palmer, the brothers’ former head chef at Barbican Kitchen, The Plymouth Herald reports.

Earleir this year the brothers opened a restaurant in Looe, Cornwall and a pub close to Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

James Tanner told the paper the decision was made to give he and his brother more time with their families and to focus on the newly opened Kentish Hare.

James Tanner is well-known for cooking on the TV show Ready Steady Cook and has had guest appearances on Saturday Kitchen.

The brothers have signed a new deal with ITV.
