Taco Bell has partnered with Deliveroo to offer home delivery in the UK for the first time.

The service has gone live at 11 of the group’s 18 UK restaurants, including Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Southampton and Chelmsford.

Earlier this year in the US, Taco Bell partnered with ride hailing platform Lyft on ‘Taco Mode’, a feature where passengers can choose to detour to a drive-thru.

The move follows comments from chief executive Brian Niccol in 2015 that third party delivery partners were “not fast enough”.

The group belatedly enters the delivery space following in the footsteps of global rival McDonalds.

Ellen Gault, marketing manager for Taco Bell UK & Europe said, “Deliveroo is one of the UK’s leading online delivery services, with sophisticated technology and a customer first philosophy which mirrors Taco Bell’s ethos.

“They are the perfect partner to enable us to give more of our fans access to the food they love, bringing Taco Bell directly to where our customers want it the most.”
