The team behind US-influenced concepts Stax Diner and Boondocks is set to open a third venture in the capital in Camden, MCA understands

Operating under the umbrella, Soul Food Enterprises, the company, which is led by Bea Vo, who founded Bea’s of Bloomsbury, and chaired by David Ramsey, owner of investment firm Brunswick Management Services, is set to launch The Famous Flames, which is thought will be a more burger-led venture.

At the same time, it is thought that Vo is also set to open a brick and mortar site next year for Butterscotch, her online bakery business, which offers “authentic modern American cakes, pastries and treats”.

Vo launched Stax Diner in 2015 in Kingly Court, Soho, and earlier this year opened Boondocks behind Moorfields Eye Hospital.

The 70-cover Boondocks serves burgers, chicken and waffles in-house and to takeaway seven days a week from 12pm to midnight.

The takeaway counter has been used an incubator for Vo’s new bakery concept.

Vo, who is executive chef and creative director of Stax and Boondocks, founded Bea’s of Bloomsbury in 2008. She remains a shareholder in the business but has no role in the day-to-day running of the three-strong group.
