London-based pie shop Square Pie has launched its miniature gourmet pies onto the retail market through online supermarket Ocado.
Square Pie’s mini pie Canapies come in four-packs in four flavours: chicken & mushroom, BBQ bourbon beef, steak & ale and spinach, sweet potato & goats cheese.
In May, Martin Dewey, managing director of Square Pie, told M&C Report that the popularity of the Canapies is due to their taste and the “cute” look. He said: “people seem to have an emotional reaction to holding them.”
Classic sized pies will also be available in steak & cheese, chicken & mushroom, steak & ale and spinach, sweet potato & goats cheese.
The Canapies have previously been sold through its five stores and into pub kitchens and at events through Brakes.
