Smollensky’s is to launch Smollensky’s Metro, a burger brand including takeaway. The group aims to have 13 sites open by the end of next year, overtaking the eponymous brand. The first new venue is due to open in Richmond, on 5 October, followed by sites in Charing Cross Road and Croydon in November. Adrian Pennelli, the group’s operations manager, said that the brand would be easier to roll out than Smollensky’s, due to the smaller size of the outlets. Pennelli described the offering as "stylish and upmarket, with simple food made on the premises". Smollensky’s Metro will offer around 40 different types of burger, including lamb, chicken and vegetarian.
