A Smollensky's restaurant in South Croydon has been sold for an undisclosed sum to restaurateur and chef Malcolm John.
John, who previously worked at London’s Bluebird Club, currently owns Le Cassoulet in south Croydon, and Le Vacherin in Chiswick, London.
Following a refurbishment, John plans to re-open the former Smollensky’s Metro unit as the 80-cover Fish & Grill — Malcolm John, before the end of the year.
Christie & Co handled the disposal.
It is also currently marketing the former Smollensky’s Metro in Hammersmith and Burger Shack in Charing Cross also on behalf of the Grill Group.
