Nusret Gokce, aka Salt Bae, the Turkish chef, who became a media sensation earlier this year, is set to open his first UK restaurant in London’s Knightsbridge.

MCA understands that the chef, who operates the Nusr-Et chain of Turkish steakhouses, is set to take space at 101 Knightsbridge in the Park Tower Hotel.

Gokce said earlier this year that on the back of his new found fame he wanted to expand his restaurant chain into London, Berlin, New York and Miami.

He opened his first restaurant in Istanbul in 2010, with further openings following in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha.

He also operates four Nusr-Et Burger sites in Turkey.

His fame came from one viral video named: “Ottoman Steak”, which was posted on 7 January 2017 and viewed 10 million times on Instagram after which he was dubbed “Salt Bae” because of his iconic way of sprinkling salt.
