Icarus Leisure, the group behind the PING concept, is understood to be close to securing a second site for Rum Kitchen, its Caribbean restaurant and bar concept, in London’s Soho.

The group, which includes Stevie Thomas, son of Luminar founder Steve, as a director, is believed to be close to securing a site in Kingly Court for an opening later this year.

The first Rum Kitchen opened at the start of this year in Notting Hill, on All Saints Road. The concept is based around a Caribbean beach shack and features over 100 varieties of rum.

Partners Thomas, Alex Potter, Jonny Boud and Fraser Shipsides are also behind the launch of the 420-cover PING, the table tennis, bar and restaurant venue in Earl’s Court.

They were also responsible for the success of the Love Brunch and Bungalow 8 ventures.

Davis Coffer Lyons is understood to be acting on the Carnaby deal.
