Rossopomodoro, the Italian restaurant chain backed by Change Capital, is to ramp up its expansion plans in the UK with plans to open up to 30 new sites by the end of 2014. The group, which is led in the UK by Handley Amos, had previously set 2016 as the year it planned to reach 30 sites in the country, but has reassessed its plans after recently securing a number of new sites Earlier, this month M&C Report revealed that the chain had secured sites in Jamestown Road, Camden, and at the Southside shopping centre development in Wandsworth, while it is also believed to be close to securing two further sites in London and one in Watford. The company currently operates three restaurants in central London in Chelsea, Covent Garden and Notting Hill, plus a site in the food hall of Selfridges in Birmingham It has retained property adviser Richard Susskind to seek sites for its UK rollout, with units in affluent suburbs inside the M25 also under consideration. The group, which operates c110 sites in Italy, also recently opened its third site in the US and second in Florida.
