The Rick Stein Group has announced the permanent closure of two of its restaurants once lockdown is lifted.

The group said on social media that its seafood restaurants in Marlborough, Wiltshire and Porthleven, Cornwall, will not reopen.

“We are very sad to say that our Portheleven restaurant will not be reopening,” the business said in a statement. “Thank you to all of our customers who have supported us. We hope you will find your way to our other restaurants where perhaps we can share fond memories of nights overlooking the romantic harbour.”

The group intends to reopen the majority of its remaining 12 sites across Cornwall, Dorset, Hampshire and London on 4 July.

Its Steins Fish & Chips sites in Padstow and Barnes are currently open for takeaway.
