High profile chef Gordon Ramsay is to expand his Bread Street Kitchen concept, having secured a former Living Room site in London’s West End for the brand and also announcing a partnership to open across Asia.

Meanwhile, the group said it’s also in final discussions with Las Vegas Sands, an American casino and resort operating company, regarding potential opportunities to open sites in Asia in Singapore and Macau.

The new 9,000 sq ft London outlet will be called Heddon Street Kitchen and is to open in Heddon Street, off Regent Street, in the autumn. The Gordon Ramsay Group was advised by Restaurant Property and the Crown Estate, the landlord, was advised by Seb Howard at CBRE.

Bread Street Kitchen is to open in central Hong Kong in September followed by further restaurants in the area and across the region later in the year and in 2015. The Gordon Ramsay Group is partnering with Dining Concepts for the regional project.

The company said: “Opening in September 2014, Bread Street Kitchen will mirror its counterpart in London and will be an exciting restaurant and bar complex in a warehouse-style design with a stunning mix of vintage and modern furniture, creating an atmosphere-led, high quality dining adventure and serving a British European menu.”

Ramsay said: “This is an exciting step for the group, not only to be entering Asia, which has such an amazing food culture but also to bringing our London concepts which have been such a success, to new markets.”

Stuart Gillies, managing director of Gordon Ramsay Group, said: “As a globally renowned group we get many invitations to expand internationally but its important that we work with the right partner who can ensure that our high quality experiences can be delivered. We are really excited about opening in Asia and believe there is a lot of growth potential not just for Bread Street Kitchen but other concepts in our London collection.”

This weekend the Sunday Timesrevealed that Gordon Ramsay Group reported a £6.4m loss after taking a hit on its York & Albany pub and hotel in north London. Sales across his business rose 4% to £44.8m in the year to last August while earnings before interest, tax and other charges climbed 3% to £5m.
