Restaurant group Prezzo has bought leases on a further six sites from Paramount Restaurants for £550,000.
Five of the sites are branded as Il Bertorelli, and one as Caffe Uno, in locations such as Rugby, Nottingham, Norwich, Brentwood and Stratford upon Avon.
They will continue to trade under these names immediately after completion. “All of the sites will then be closed and refurbished before reopening under one of Prezzo’s existing trading formats,” said Prezzo in a statement.
“The transfer of the leases will be subject to landlord’s consent and the directors’ anticipate a phased completion process.
“This deal will help to underpin the company’s anticipated opening plans of at least 20 new restaurants over the course of 2011, with all six restaurants expected to be making a contribution to profits by the final quarter of 2011.”
Prezzo, which currently operates more than 160 restaurants, bought 11 sites from Paramount in August 2010.
