Pret has launched a click and collect trial in five of its London stores.

Run exclusively through its delivery partner Deliveroo, the trial is offering customers the chance to pay remotely through the app and collect from a designated in-store pickup point.

The service is currently operating in Pret’s Aldgate, Hammersmith, Kingston, Putney and Stratford stores, but if the trial proves successful it will look to extend the offer to more sites in August.

It is currently testing different areas in-store for pickup, including a ‘hatch’ system, meaning customers wouldn’t have to enter the shop to collect their order.

“As more of our customers change their daily routines, we’ve been looking at how Pret can meet their needs,” said digital transformation director Alex Chisholm.

“Click and collect is a great way of offering a fast, contact-free service for our freshly made food and we look forward to making it available to more customers in the coming months.”

The business has now reopened over 300 of its stores across the UK, including all 10 of its Veggie Pret sites.
