Barbecue restaurant group Porky’s BBQ is to launch a sister concept called One Bourbon Tavern, MCA understands.

The Simon Brigg-led group, which earlier this year pulled a crowdfunding campaign, is believed to have closed its Crouch End site in order to re-open it under the new format that will feature an extensive drinks offering with an emphasis on craft beer, bourbon and cocktails. The new format’s food offer will still place an emphasis on barbecue.

It is thought that the group will look at opportunities to expand both Porky’s and One Bourbon going forward.

Earlier this year, the five-strong Porky’s sought to raise £650k to aid its expansion, raising £100k on the first day of the campaign. However, it eventually pulled the campaign after falling short of its intended target.

The group currently has sites in Camden, Shoreditch, Bankside, Crouch End, and Chelsea, and previously said it was looking to open two more locations this year, forecasting an average turnover of £100k per site.
