Poke House

Poke House, the Italian-founded poke bowl brand, has confirmed plans to open five more restaurants in London.

The restaurant group, which has just opened a flagship pink restaurant in Covent Garden, said the new “Instagrammable houses” would open in Battersea Power Station, Borough Market, St. Paul’s, St John’s Wood and Mayfair over the coming months.

Earlier this year Pichi told MCA how the company plans to open more than 65 outlets across the UK by the end of 2023.

Poke House is a majority shareholder in Honu Tiki Bowls – Austria’s leading poke brand.

The business has also invested in California’s Sweefin brand, with previous acquisitions including Ahi Poké in the UK.

Earlier this year the business also announced plans to launch an IPO in the UK as part of plans to expand nationwide.

The all-day dining concept, which claims to be Europe’s largest poke bowl brand with 100 restaurants worldwide, serves customisable bowls, including fish, chicken, grains or vegetables and a core range of house specials.

Poke House was born in November 2018 when Matteo Pichi and his friend Vittoria Zanetti set about bringing a slice of California to every city.

Its UK restaurants are set against a backdrop of pastel décor, San Diego art, cacti, LA street art, neon lights and Cali-House music.

“Covent Garden has always been one of our key areas to open a Poke House in. Not only does it have huge footfall but some of the world’s most impressive brands are also in the area, so, to be open in such an iconic area is truly an amazing testament to where we have come,” Pichi, co-founder and CEO of Poke House, said.

“We opened in London in September last year and it’s now very quickly becoming one of our key cities across the globe. We’re also opening further sites across the capital and cannot wait to see how the locals take to our delicious poke bowls.”
