Hony Capital, owner of PizzaExpress, has signed a three-year deal worth £4.5m with 3663 catering equipment, a division of foodservice provider, which will see the latter supply non-foods to the former’s restaurants in the UK and China.

The new agreement will run from July 2015 until December 2018.

Hony Capital is seeking to expand the chain of pizza and pasta restaurants after acquiring it from UK Gondola Group last year. 3663 catering equipment will provide all non-food and catering equipment needs, including commercial cooking appliances, clothing, cleaning solutions, cookware, utensils and crockery.

Paul Knight, director of 3663 catering equipment and non-food, said: “We have been working with Pizza Express for five years, during which time we have developed a strong, successful relationship. We understand how crucial product innovation, reliability and excellent service is for our customers and have a proven track record of supporting unit expansion in the fast casual dining segment.

“We are pleased that Hony Capital felt we have a good fit with its growth plans for Pizza Express in the UK and China. This contract win is testament to our commitment to making our customers’ lives easier and we’re looking forward to helping to maintain the iconic brand identity of Pizza Express in the UK and China.”
