Pizza1889, the shipping container-based concept, has opened its third site in Cambridgeshire, with a fourth due to open before the end of the year.

The company, which first launched in the Nugent Shopping Park, Orpington in March 2013, has opened its third pop-up pizza parlour at Landsec’s Cambridge leisure park.

The outlet operates from a specially designed 40ft, 10-tonne shipping container holding a state-of-the-art six-foot stone oven which produces heat of around 450 degrees to ensure a traditional pizza cooked within minutes.

A fourth site will launch in Bristol before the end of the year and further openings are lined up for 2019.

Pizza1889 founder Daniel Southwell said: “Our aim with the business concept is to provide the highest quality handmade pizza using traditional techniques. We want to deliver this in an exciting and complementary way, as you will see with the bespoke container and our products, there really is nothing quite like Pizza1889.”
