Piri Fino, the fledgling piri piri chicken-focused takeaway concept, hopes to open its first site under franchise this year and has “big aspirations” to become a national brand, founder Andreas Elia has told M&C Report. The first site opened on Dudley Road in Birmingham in 2010. Elia said he planned to open a second company-run restaurant in Sutton Coalfield in the summer and have its first franchise site trading this year. “Next year [I want] maybe three or four, and the year after that six or seven to 10,” said Elia. “I’ve got about 40 enquires from people who want a franchise. [It’s a case of] getting the right person. “We are hoping to be nation-wide. We’ve got big aspirations; I want to have as many outlets as KFC in the future.”
