PF Chang’s, the Asian-themed US casual dining restaurant chain, is set to launch in the UK, after signing a master franchise deal for the country, M&C has learnt.

The Arizona-based company, which operates 210 sites in the US, is understood to have signed a partnership deal with Splendid Restaurants Ltd, a new off shoot of the Splendid Hospitality Group that currently owns 18 hotels across the UK and is chaired by Shiraz Boghani.

It is thought that Splendid, which has already offered to acquire an iconic London restaurant site for the brand’s London debut, will look to tweak the PF Chang’s offer for the UK, lifting it from a mid-market format in the US to a more premium casual offer here.

Splendid Restaurants, which will also be chaired by Boghani, is led by chief executive Salima Vellani and group operations director Mark Hall. It is thought that the group is looking to introduce further international brands to the UK.

Splendid Hospitality Group is one of the UK’s fastest growing privately-owned hotel groups which has made a name for itself through the design, construction and operation of a full range of hotel styles and locations.

Current hotel locations in the UK include the 5 Star Conrad by Hilton in St. James as well as Yorkshires only 5 star hotel the Grand Hotel and Spa in York.

Owned franchised branded properties include Holiday Inn Wembley and Holiday Inn Northampton-West, Holiday Inn Express in Glenrothes, York, Leeds and Crawley, Indigo Edinburgh and Comfort Inn London - King’s Cross.
