Little Chef boss Ian Pegler is determined to resuscitate the ailing high street chain. He says Little Chef has already dumped “bangers and mash” from the menu and replaced it with fish pie, pasta salads and more interesting puddings. Pegler plans a programme of refurbishment and modernisation, and has also commissioned Heston Blumenthal, owner of the triple Michelin-starred Fat Duck in Berkshire, to come up with ideas to bolster sales and profitability.
