Patisserie Valerie, the upmarket café operator, has opened two new outlets in Leeds. The group, which is run by Patisserie Holdings, the Birmingham-based company backed by Risk Capital Partners, has opened a site in Albion Street – and converted a former Druckers site in The White Rose shopping centre. Paul May, Patisserie Valerie’s chief executive, said: "We have begun opening new outlets roughly every two weeks. The volume of customers at each location is exceeding our expectations.” The group now numbers 30 sites. Last year, Luke Johnson, the head of Risk Capital, said the group would open up to ten sites in 2010, however recent openings suggest that the company is ramping up its expansion in the regions.
