Patisserie Holdings, operator of the Patisserie Valerie (PV), Druckers and Baker & Spice chains, is set to open its 100th site next month, as it looks to open up to 20 sites in total this year.

The group, which opened 18 new sites last year, has opened new PV units in Southend, Portsmouth and Colchester over the past two months, with an upcoming opening in Derby Westfield set to take the group to the 100-site mark. This would comprise 28 Druckers, three Baker & Spice and 69 PVs.

Paul May, chief executive of the company, which is backed by Risk Capital and saw turnover rise by almost a quarter to £49.5m in the year to 30 September, told M&C Report that the group could eventually operate an estate of over 200 sites in the UK.

It hopes to open its first sites in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland this year and is giving consideration to expanding into an evening offer for the PV estate.

May said: “We are especially pleased that despite the current climate of doom and gloom, we have been able to bring investment and new jobs to the UK’s high streets.”
