High-end restaurants are to copy KFC, Mc Donald’s and Domino’s Pizza in launching halal dishes.
There are 2.6 million Muslims in the UK, representing more than 3% of the population, and they account for £400m worth of fresh meat sales, according to Mintel.
A number of London restaurants are now operating Ramadan menus, including Zaika in Kensington, Benares - a Michelin-starred venue in Mayfair and Bord’Eaux - a French restaurant at Grosvenor House on Park Lane.
