Nobu, the upmarket Japanese restaurant and hotel concept, backed by Hollywood actor Robert De Niro, is opening a fourth site in London.

De Niro and partner Nobu Matsuhisa are taking over the Radisson Blu hotel in Portman Square after reaching a deal with owner London & Regional, The Times reports.

Over the next 12 months, the site will undergo a revamp to create a 240-room luxury hotel and a Nobu restaurant, ballroom and meeting facilities to be launched in the spring of next year.

The business, which has a third key partner Meir Teper, operate 40 Nobu restaurants, including three in London, as well as nine Nobu Hotelsm including Shoreditch.

Nobu Hospitality also has properties in the pipeline in Barcelona, Chicago, Riyadh, Toronto, Sao Paulo, Atlanta, Tel Aviv, Warsaw and elsewhere.
